Tuscany off road route

Explore the valleys and hill top towns of Tuscany’s iconic landscape.

At times following the Via Francigena pilgrim’s route, you’ll stay in locally owned accommodations and visit towns and villages steeped in history, including the beautiful  Renaissance town of Siena. As you’d imagine, there’s plenty of opportunities to taste the local food and drink.

It’s not all history and culture though; the route leads you out into dramatic, steep sided valleys where you’ll discover long descents and fantatic rolling trails through forests and alongside rivers. The Crete Senesi rides like a roller coaster, and you’ll even join the route of a major Italian mountain bike race.

IS THIS TRIP SUITABLE FOR YOU? A mix of wide cart track and singletrack with occasioanl rocky challenges means that this is a ride for someone who has previous experience riding mountain bikes in off road terrain. The trails are fast when dry, but being chalky can be slippery when wet. You should be a relatively fit biker, happy in the saddle for long days, and comfortable with long climbs and occasional technical sections on the descents.

DURATION:  This is a 7 day trip with 5 days of riding. Total distance approx 200 kms.
