One of the United States greatest backcountry trails, this challenging, self guided 74 mile ride leads you through a landscape of flower meadows and jagged alpine peaks.
Expect demanding climbs, fun descents, and at the end of the day a comfortable, well prepared campsite in a stunning location. You’ll be glad you stocked those coolers so well!
Is this trip suitable for me? This is a demanding ride with over 10,000 feet of climbing over 74 miles. You are self guided and should be comfortable in the backcountry without a guide.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You are responsible for your own food planning. You will have the chance to do a food shop the day before getting on the trail. At this point you should buy all your food for the trip. You will be given coolers for your food, which will be transported to each camp.
At night, you are on your own in camp. You will be cooking your own food and managing your own campsite. The hosts will remove trash in the morning when they pick up camp gear and move it to the next site.

Your trip is fully customisable to suit your preferred length of stay
Day 1: Arrive, meet your host/ driver and go shopping. It’s up to you to make sure you fill the provided coolers with enough food for the full four days.
Day 2: A start at nearly 11,000 feet will wake you up! From the get go on this day you’re treated to stunning views, this time of the San Juan mountains. A great day, with fun riding, and amazing scenery.
Day 3: Follow the rolling singletrack around Hermosa Peak, through thick forest, to Blackhawk Pass
Day 4: Begin the day with a rolling traverse and yet more great views. A gradual climb up to Indian Ridge Trail.
Day 5: Lots of downhill today on forest single track and then finally rocky trail along Junction Creek, before rolling out to the end point of your journey. Time for some beers, a deluxe dinner….. and probably a nice, warm shower!
